LR Strike Errors 180 degree
Opposite side of the world example.
(Look for this if you have unexplained strikes in an area.)

This
is a great example of the 180 degree strike problem that a two station triangulation
has when it reaches the other side of the world. There is no way
to know which side of the world the strike belongs on at that
point. In the example here, take a globe and put your finger
on each point and you will see they are on exact opposite sides of the
globe. These trouble spots bear watching if you have heavy storms
in the mirror spot on the other side of the world. Each station
will have its own pairs of these as it depends on your Lat. and Lon
location.
If you can get a three station lock going it wont have this problem. |
